AERIAL WORK PLATFORM / ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM / SCISSOR LIFT COMBO COURSE

AIR BRAKES
$210
​
Our air brake training program meets all Alberta Transportation requirements for individuals to obtain their “Q” endorsement. Topics covered include braking fundamentals, fundamentals of compressed air, vehicle braking systems, tactics for air system failure, mode diagnosis, troubleshooting, brake adjustments/inspections (theory and hands-on).
This inclusive course incorporates description, operation and service elements associated with dual air brake systems:
-brake fundamentals
-air brake system
-supply circuit
-service circuits
-park brake circuit
-tractor/trailer circuits
-system failures
-foundation brakes
-driving tips
-vehicle inspections

Practical component is comprised of demonstration of the in-cab air/air brake inspection. Students will have two practice sessions then be tested on the air brake inspection process. Maximum time for the exam is 15 minutes; passing grade is 80%.
This course will also provide motorhome operators with the required air brakes certification.

CERTIFICATION
After completion of the course and practical exam, students will be required to complete a written exam at an Alberta Registry Office before being able to apply the certification to their license. Fees associated with this exam are set by and paid to the registry at the time of testing (approximately $20). Air Brakes course fee is $210, payable at time of registration.
Classroom/practical portion is approximately 10 hours.

AIR BRAKES REFRESHER COURSE
Want a refresher because you have taken the course already or want to sit it again before taking the knowledge exam? We can register you in a session - no practical exam necessary. CONFINED SPACE ENTRY (LEVEL II)

Energy Safety Canada CONFINED SPACE ENTRY AND MONITOR
$185
Confined space work involves some of the most critical hazards in the oil and gas industry. This training teaches participants to identify, understand and mitigate the potential hazards of working in restricted and confined spaces. There is no practical component to this course.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING/PROFESSIONAL DRIVER IMPROVEMENT

Defensive Driving (DDC)
This is a 6.5 hour Alberta Transportation approved Defensive Driving Course designed for those who drive personal vehicles. Participants who score at least 80% on the written multiple-choice exam will be eligible for a 3 demerit reduction on their driver’s license. Students learn the latest in Defensive Driving theory where good driving habits and behaviors are reinforced.
This course is also available in an on-line format.

Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC)
This course is designed for the Professional Driver and is approved by Alberta Transportation. This course is appropriate as a refresher course for senior drivers or a skill building course for less experienced drivers. This program includes instruction using a combination of textbooks, PowerPoint, and videos.
The course deals with the following topics, among others:

Students who successfully complete the course and score 80% or higher on the 40-question multiple choice exam will be eligible to submit the course completion document to a license centre to deduct 3 demerits from their license (provided they have 2 – 14 demerits on their license). The course may be completed every two years.
CERTIFICATION
This is a classroom-based course, and to qualify for the demerit reduction, the registrant must pass an exam at the end of the class.
FALL PROTECTION
Fall Protection (1/2 day)

This 1/2 day course provides participants with a general understanding of what fall protection is and the types of equipment and techniques required. Participants perform an equipment inspection, evaluate hazards, and experience suspension in a fall protection simulation exercise.
CERTIFICATION
The Fall Protection course includes lessons, quizzes, a final exam, and a certificate of completion.

Fall Protection (full-day course: Energy Safety Canada)
$190
Energy Safety Canada’s full-day fall protection course is designed for workers who need basic fall protection training to work in areas with potential fall hazards.
Note: While this basic course can be used as part of a worker’s competency assessment, the employer must designate a worker as a “competent person” based on the specific tasks assigned.

FATIGUE MANAGEMENT

Our fatigue management program (approximately 2.5 hours) is designed to inform professional drivers of the signs of driver fatigue, the responsibilities of the driver and employer, and the methods by which a driver can manage fatigue. In addition to discussing what fatigue is, the circadian rhythm, and myths related to fatigue management, participants are encouraged to examine their personal lifestyles and consider changes to ensure they are ready and able to work.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS - THEORY PORTION ONLY
$75
The safe operation of portable fire extinguishers is your first line of defence in protecting your people and property in the event of a fire. This course presents the theory of safe and effective use of fire extinguishers to provide confidence to employees in their use of fire extinguishers in the workplace. Fires start small and may be extinguished by well-trained, knowledgeable employees using the proper equipment.

LIVE FIRE TRAINING

STANDARD FIRST AID: $170
Comprehensive First Aid and CPR techniques for those who need training for work requirements, or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies in the workplace or home. The course covers a variety of topics from basic (such as cardiovascular and breathing emergencies, CPR Level A, prevention of disease transmission) to in-depth topics, such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine. Level C certification (adults, children and infants) is also available.

WorkSafeBC has authorized certain agencies in Alberta to offer Out of Jurisdiction certifications acceptable to WorkSafeBC and certify attendants who fulfill certain requirements.
If you hold a valid first aid certificate from a regulatory authority in Canada, you can be issued a certificate that WorkSafeBC will recognize. You must:

Present photo ID and the first aid certificate you earned outside B.C.

Complete an application form and the applicable jurisprudence package.

Review B.C.’s health and safety regulation.

FORKLIFT TRAINING

The safe operation of forklifts is critical in protecting operators and other workers. The course provides participants a general understanding of the safe and efficient operation of an industrial powered fork truck. The course stresses the importance of Occupational Health and Safety as it relates to lift truck training; teaches the components and weight, stability, and speed characteristics of lift trucks; teaches about safe handling of the fuels and batteries used in lift trucks; teaches the safe operating techniques of a lift truck, and teaches how to perform a daily maintenance and safety check on a truck.

H2S Alive!

This course is intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who could be exposed to hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The primary focus is to help people work safely in and around H2S environments. This course covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, how to protect oneself and basic rescue techniques. Each participant is required to operate a self-contained breathing apparatus and perform rescue lift and drag exercises

HEART AND STROKE CPR (BLS) Classroom
Full Course: $120
Recert: $105
This course is for those requiring the BLS level of CPR. The full course is for those without a current BLS level certification. To qualify for the recertification course, your BLS certification must be current, or you must present completion certification of the online pre-requisite challenge course offered through Heart and Stroke.
BLS CPR Blended Learning Courses
Instructors will provide students with a redemption key to unlock the online component and will verify location, date, time of the in-classroom component. After successfully completing the BLS Blended – Online Component, students will automatically receive a receipt called the ‘BLS Blended Class Pass’. The Class Pass allows entry to the BLS Blended – In-classroom Component when presented to the course instructor.
The BLS Blended is recommended only for experienced, highly-proficient BLS providers who regularly use BLS skills in their practice. Where available, BLS Blended 60 offers hands-on testing with very minimal practice. Restrictions on course availability and approvals apply.

HOURS OF SERVICE (LOG BOOKS)

This course (approximately 4 hours) reviews the highlights of the Federal Hours of Service Regulations. It emphasizes such aspects as carrier and driver obligations, terminology, commonly asked questions and correct documentation.
Specialized Hours of Service sessions can be delivered for companies operating under an Oilfield Exemption Permit.
Our Hours of Service (log books) workshop provides commercial vehicle drivers and motor carriers with the knowledge needed to properly fill out a driver’s daily log, to stay within the regulated hours of service, and to complete all associated forms.

LOAD SECUREMENT

Our load securement workshop (approximately 2.5 hours) covers all particulars associated with the North American Cargo Securement Standard. These include the fundamentals of load securement, general cargo securement regulations such as the securement system, containing, immobilizing and securing cargo, and inspection requirements.

OILFIELD DRIVER AWARENESS (ODA)
$200
Designed by Energy Safety Canada, the Oilfield Driver Improvement (approximately 7 hours) training course’s purpose is to provide a petroleum industry training standard for workers engaged in oil field driving and transportation. ODA is intended for oilfield truck drivers operating vehicles 4500 kg GVW and over. Topics include Professional driving attitude, regulations, and policies, National Safety Code requirements, proper vehicle inspection, securing loads, off-highway driving techniques, and road conditions and hazards.
CERTIFICATION
Following successful completion of this course, you will receive an Energy Safety Canada
training certificate (valid for three years) and an Alberta Transportation “Record of Driver Education”.
NOTE: Successful course completion qualifies you for a one-time reduction of up to three
demerits points from your Alberta driver’s license, within two years of the course date.

This training course for Skid Steers will help employers and operators complete OHS-compliant operator safety training and properly record it. This course provides an introduction to the equipment, a section on anatomy, maintenance and inspections, hazards, safe operation, basic trenching, and more.
An OHS-Compliant Training Class Online for Skid Steers (Rubber-Tired, Track Loaders, Multi-Terrain Loaders), this course satisfies OHS’s requirements for the classroom portion of operator safety training.

TELEHANDLER / ZOOM BOOM

This course provides students a basic understanding of telehandler operation, maintenance, and load handling. It will also cover relevant federal and provincial legislative requirements applicable to the workplace:

TDG

You need TDG training if your job, in any way, comes into contact with dangerous goods. You may be a shipper, a receiver, a driver, a loader Cargo Handler, Lift Truck Operator, Dock Worker, Loader/Unloader, Receiver/Shipper, Towmotor Operator, Freight Handler, Warehouse Operator or Shipper.
In the TDG course you will learn:
